Mammoth Mountain was the first California resort to open when they started their lifts turning on November 9th, but they had to wait until the end of November for their first real snowstorm.ย But boy, was it worth the wait.
The ‘Great Thanksgiving Storm of 2019’ dumped almost 5-feet on the ski area, and thanks to a further two feet of snow this weekend, Mammoth Mountain is now completely open top-to-bottom, with the most skiable acres currently open in the country.
Highlights:
- Mammoth has the most open terrain in the country
- 99″: season snowfall total
- 80″ at the summit
- 62″ at McCoy
- 50″ at Main lodge
Why can’t squaw open 100%? Spread people out. Reverse traverse was open yesterday 12/9 and today 12/10 so all of headwall got skied and they let us hike and ski KT22. Why not just spin the lifts? Just want to throw that out there.
Shut the phq up you big baby
