Mammoth Mountain will be the first resort in California to open for the winter 20/21 season when their lifts start spinning this morning.
With 14″ of fresh snow this last week or so, Mammoth was able to bring forward their opening day by 24-hours. The base depth is 12″ at the main lodge, 24″ at McCoy Station, and 17″ at the summit.
Weather permitting, they plan to operate Broadway Express (1), Stump Alley Express (2), Face Lift Express (3), Unbound Express (6) with a small terrain park set up, and Discovery Chair (11) on Friday.
The Unbound park crew hustled and built a proper park in lower Main. 12 jibs and a gorgeous 30’ jump.
The 20/21 season gets rolling tomorrow and to say we are fired up would be an understatement.
