Mammoth Mountain has declared that they’ll stay open at least until Memorial Day, May 27th, 2013.  Which is damn good considering the rough year we’ve had in the Sierras.

In fact, recent numbers from snow study sites in the Southern Sierra (where Mammoth is) show 42% of normal precipitation for the season thus far.  42%, that’s really bad.

With this fact in mind, it’s very impressive that Mammoth can stay open so long.  Props to Mammoth.

If you haven’t been to Mammoth in the springtime, you’re missing out.  Mammoth shines brightest in the spring with huge parks, good parties, and quality spring skiing all spring.  Not to mention the influx of good looking people from Southern California.

MAMMOTH STATISTICS:

– Snow Total this Season = 289” (147” in Dec)

– 27 chairs open (all chairs except chair 20)
