A 32-year-old Minnesota man has been killed in a snowmobiling accident on Buffalo Pass northeast of Steamboat Springs, CO.

The man was trying to climb a steep, near-vertical side of a hill on Wednesday afternoon when his snowmobile upended and fell on top of him, the Steamboat Pilot reports.

One of the man’s friends, who witnessed the accident, managed to pull the sled off of him and start CPR within two minutes of the accident. The victim, whose name and hometown have not been released, was wearing a helmet and avalanche backpack.
