The Mangy Moose Ski Club is rolling out a new members-only ski lounge and a ski concierge experience in partnership with Black Tie Ski Rentals of Jackson Hole for its 60th anniversary this winter. The Ski Club will cap memberships at 100. Each membership is limited to two adults and up to three dependents aged 21 or younger. A full-season membership costs $9,800, and a transferable property membership is $8,800, which is held in the name of a property and transferable among its owners and guests. Property members will get every club privilege except the commemorative skis and the $500 food & beverage house credit.

Members will receive a dedicated ski locker for the season, ski and boot valet service, and a reserved fireside lounge for them and their guests. It also includes a $500 food and beverage credit at the Moose, a limited-edition Mangy Moose 60th anniversary skis ($849 retail value), and early access to our restaurant reservations, winter concerts, and other special après events. Founded in 1967, the world-famous Mangy Moose sits at the heart of Jackson Hole’s ski culture, offering après and live music in a one-of-a-kind environment.

The Moose is not going private, and the saloon, cafe, market, and retail floor remain open to everyone. The restaurant will continue welcoming the public for dinner. “Before you panic: the Moose is NOT going private,” the Mangy Moose said on its social media. “We wouldn’t do you like that.”

The club hours will be from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily throughout the ski season. Its opening and closing dates coincide with Jackson Hole Mountain Resort’s 2026-2027 ski season. This means the first ski date the club will be open is scheduled for Friday, November 27.

The ski club will operate just like a private club. Members will enter through a private door on the north side of the building between the Mangy Moose and Crystal Springs. From there, the Black Tie team will welcome them in and take care of the members’ gear. Ski Club members’ boots will be off the dryer and waiting. Everything is staged, nothing needs to be hauled, and members can dress at their locker while the valet sets their skis by the deck. Boots go on at the benches; street shoes into members’ cubby. When it’s time to hit the slopes, the tram is steps away, and members can walk out the door and onto the snow. For those who want to ride the first tram, the ski club can make arrangements with advance notice. The Ski Club will have grab-and-go breakfast burritos and sandwiches available at that time. When members return from a day on the mountain, they can rack their skis or snowboards outside, step out of their boots, and let the team take it from there.

Members at the new ski club will have access to the private Fireside Lounge. A $500 food and beverage house credit will be good for food and beverages at the Moose, plus the full bar, with breakfast and lunch service billed to your member house account. Morning service (8:00 to 10:30 a.m.) will feature espresso drinks, breakfast sandwiches and burritos to go, plus Bloody Marys and mimosas, billed to the member’s house account. For lunch, service members will have the option of a select Ski Club lunch menu in the lounge from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Complimentary coffee and hot chocolate will be available all day, and the full bar opens at 10:30 a.m., and the saloon takes over as evening comes on.

Members will have access to one of a hundred lockers in the upstairs room. Skis and boards go in dedicated racks, boots dry overnight, and the Black Tie team has it all staged before members arrive. A maximum of five people can store gear in your locker. This is defined as two adults and up to three dependents. Brand new lockers will be assigned to guests with a reprogrammable combination lock to store your personal items safely. Each locker measures 13-3/4 inches wide, 34-3/4 inches high, and 16-3/4 inches deep. The ski club will store members’ skis and boots in a different location so their gear stays dry. One membership covers a maximum of five pairs of skis and boots stored with the concierge team.

Black Tie will offer rentals, demos, and overnight tunes for an additional cost for members, but all services are discounted for members and their guests. The ski club will issue an exclusive code valid for the entire season, which we will include in members’ welcome packets and can be used by guests who rent from Black Tie’s website. Members can request ski and snowboard tunes through the ski club app or by speaking directly with the club staff. Black Tie will provide you with a tune ticket and arrange to bring your equipment back to their warehouse for tuning services and then return everything to the club. Advance notice is preferred, but overnight tunes will try to be accommodated.

To make the process more convenient, new members will have access to the Mangy Moose Ski Club app (iOS and Android), which will be connected to club staff all season. Members can use it to let the staff know what day/time they’re arriving, request access for their guests, get on-site help, and pre-order food and drinks before their last run so they’re ready when members come off the mountain. Members can communicate with the club staff before arriving by texting their estimated arrival time the day before to give them time to confirm and prepare. The club staff will retrieve your skis and boots and have them ready for members as close to their arrival time as possible.

Members’ guests can be covered by a daily or weekly club pass, subject to availability, offered on a first-come, first-served basis. A daily guest pass costs $100 (non-peak) and $150 (peak), and a weekly guest pass costs $595 (non-peak) and $892.50 (peak). Peak periods are December 25, 2026 through January 3, 2027, and February 12 through 15, 2027. Members can register a guest through the app or call Black Tie Ski Rentals. If a guest does not need a locker or storage, there’s no fee to bring them in. Members can bring up to 2 guests per day during peak periods; on especially busy days, the ski club may need to limit guest access for capacity or safety reasons.

To mark six decades at the base of the mountain, the Moose has partnered with Icelantic Skis on a custom 60th-anniversary ski: a limited production run, with 100 pairs reserved for club members. One pair accompanies every full-season membership. The Mangy Moose 60th anniversary limited-edition skis are estimated to arrive in Jackson in early October and be available for in-person pickup at Black Tie Ski Rentals’ downtown Jackson location at 225 W Broadway. Members who can’t make it out until later can let the Ski Club know, and it will hold them for them. When members fill out the club’s online registration form, they will have the opportunity to request a specific ski length.

Ski Club memberships are first-come, first-served until sold out and are only confirmed once the registration form has been completed and payment has been made. Once a member has paid, a welcome email should arrive in late October with more information.

The Mangy Moose was voted one of America’s Top 4 après-ski bars by USA Today and called “the quintessential après-ski bar” by The New York Times. The Mangy Moose is everybody’s choice for après. For members, there will be no waiting for a table after a day on the slopes; the club lounge is already theirs, with a seat by the fire, hot chocolate for the kids, and a dedicated bar just for members. For people who may be concerned that the Moose is going to change, it won’t. “The Mangy Moose you know and love isn’t going away,” the Mangy Moose said in a social media post. “If you want to do après at the saloon, pull up a seat, member or not. The Ski Club will not change the character, spirit, or accessibility of the Moose.”
