If you thought your feet hurt after a day in ski boots, spare a thought for this crazy Brit who set a new world record for running a marathon in ski boots on Sunday.

Paul Bennett ran the 26.2-miles London Marathon in 5 hours 30 minutes and 20 seconds, beating the previous record by just seven seconds.

Paul and his mother were running the famous marathon for the third time, to raise money for the Worshipful Company of Pattenmakers supporting injured military servicemen and women towards the incredible DMRC Café Project for the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre, Stanford Hall, Loughborough.

In 2017 Paul run the London marathon in brogues, and then in 2019, he attempted a Guinness world record for “Fastest Male Dressed as Large shoe” only to be beaten on the line by a flip flop. Although he did win the record eventually through the appeals process it still left a sour taste for not being given the award on the finish line.
