Mark McMorris from Regina, Saskatchewan, and Zoi Sadowski-Synnott from New Zealand, are the first winner of the three-stage 2021 Natural Selection Tour. The first competition, which took place in Jackson Hole over this past week, was a spectacle to see with deep snow, great riders, and even better tricks.

On finals day, Mark McMorris was able to edge out the Natural Selections Tour creator and one of the best snowboarders of all time, Travis Rice, in the first round, advancing to the finals where he beat Ben Ferguson in what was some fantastic competition.

Zoi Sadowski-Synnott, who is only 19 years old, had an amazing day and finals round, first beating Hana Beaman in a tiebreaker and then easily beating Marion Haerty in the finals to take the win.

Many have praised the Natural Selection Tour as the future of snowboarding, bringing competition directly into mother nature’s best. This form of competition shows the true skill and talent of the world’s best snowboarders from both the freestyle and backcountry communities in head to head faceoffs.

The next stop on the tour is at Baldface Lodge in Nelson, British Columbia, followed by the finals at Todrillo Mountain Lodge in Alaska.
