The spirit of the mountains has found a permanent home in the city of Denver. Meier Skis, the Colorado-based manufacturer known for its sustainable, handcrafted equipment, has officially opened The Couloir, a first-of-its-kind après-ski bar located directly inside its Denver headquarters.

As reported in a recent press release shared with SnowBrains, the space allows guests to enjoy the energy of a mountain resort without needing a lift ticket. What makes the venue truly unique is its design: it is the only place in the world where patrons can pull up a barstool and watch skis being manufactured in real-time through the glass of the “Craft Skiery.”

The opening of The Couloir marks a significant evolution for Meier Skis, moving from a traditional factory to a cultural hub. Visitors can watch the entire process—from raw Colorado aspen and beetle-kill pine cores to the finished product—while chatting with “skitenders” or fellow enthusiasts.

“There’s nowhere else in the world where you can sit down with a drink and watch skis being made right in front of you,” Ted Eynon said, CEO of Meier Skis, in the announcement. “We’ve always believed in making the ski-building process visible. The Couloir turns that into something people can experience.”

The bar’s philosophy, “Après Every Day,” aims to capture the camaraderie of the slopes year-round. Whether discussing winter powder days or summer hiking plans, the space is designed for anyone who feels at home in the mountains.

Located at 1775 South Broadway, the bar features a rotating selection of local beers, wines, and signature cocktails like “Meier Mules” and margaritas. To foster a community atmosphere, the venue hosts regular live music and special events inside the factory.

The Couloir offers two daily happy hour windows:

  • 12 pm – 4 pm: BOGO well drinks and draft beers.

  • 4 pm – 7 pm: $2 off all menu board items.

The current opening is just the beginning for the Denver site. Meier Skis is already planning a second phase for The Couloir, which will include an adjacent outdoor space. This expansion aims to create an “alpine-inspired environment” featuring elevated decks and natural textures to further bridge the gap between urban Denver and the high country.

“We didn’t just want to open a bar,” Eynon added. “We wanted to create a place that feels like après, any day of the year.”

The Couloir is open from 11 am to 10 pm Thursday through Saturday, and 11 am to 8 pm Sunday through Wednesday. For those looking for a deeper dive into the technical side of the sport, guided factory tours remain available by booking.
