Mikaela Shiffrin was back in action yesterday, competing in the Super-G after failing to finish in both her previous two events. Unfortunately, there was no medal, she finished ninth, but the event allowed her to finish a race and regain some confidence.

It was the first time Shiffrin, 26, had competed in the Super-G at an Olympics, although she did win gold in the 2019 World Championships and bronze at the 2021 championships.

Lara Gut-Behrami of Switzerland took gold, Austria’s Mirjam Puchner silver, Switzerland’s Michelle Gisin bronze.

Shiffrin thanked her fans for their outpouring of support after her emotional response to skiing out of the slalom earlier in the week.
