Starting mid-April, elite members of the U.S. Ski Team began training at Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows, CA, including one of the best ski racers in the world, Mikaela Shiffrin, alongside local World Cup athletes AJ Hurt and Keely Cashman.
In a social media post, Shiffrin said she is happy to be there and back on snow:

As a Gold Certified Podium Club and a U.S. Ski Team Official Training Site, Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows has been recognized as having the quality of terrain, training venues, and coach expertise to accommodate the high caliber of training necessary for the country’s top snowsports athletes. As a result, these annual training trips have become a staple at Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows, even drawing athletes like Mikaela Shiffrin, who is among the top-ranked and most-decorated ski racers in the world. Shiffrin began training at Squaw Valley yesterday (4/19/21) and has made this stop a consistent part of her spring training schedule for the last few years, a location she often says she looks forward to returning to year over year.
