Mikaela Shiffrin’s 18/19 season was arguably the greatest season of all time. After earning 17 wins, 4 crystal globes, and 2 world championships, she returned to meet with media and squeeze in a nap.
“You could say last week was a really good week.” – Mikaela Shiffrin.
She races around New York City, gifts an Ikon Pass to Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show, explains why her mom is more than a mom (“my favorite coach I have ever had”) and talks about why the interviews are hard work but worth it for more awareness around her sport.
Mikaela Shiffrin, the reigning World Cup champion and Olympic gold medalist, is an icon in her own right. She was the youngest woman in U.S. history to win a World Championship and the youngest athlete in history to win an Olympic slalom gold medal. To date, she has two Olympic gold medals, one Olympic silver medal, and five FIS World Ski Championship gold medals.
Mikaela is a native of Colorado and has spent years training and racing at Ikon Pass destinations such as Aspen Mountain and Copper Mountain in Colorado, Mammoth Mountain and Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows in California, and Killington in Vermont.
She represents the best of skiing today and will set the tone for the ski racers of the future and defines the spirit of the Ikon Pass community.
