Miles Clark Season Recap 2017/18

PATAGONIA
In 2017, I spent my 9th consecutive season skiing in Bariloche, Argentina.
I’m on the Catedral Alta Patagonia Freeride Team in Bariloche.
I’m on the Catedral Alta Patagonia Freeride Team in Bariloche and I’m regularly featured on their large Instagram (99K fans) and Facebook (201K fans) channels.
Catedral is the largest ski resort in South America.
This past season, we had one of the biggest snowfall seasons in 10 years and it was simply unreal.
We experienced 33 powder days in a row in 2017 and we didn’t waste a flake of it.
Please see the best moments of my time in Patagonia last season below:
ANTARCTICA
In November 2017, I guided my 3rd ski trip to Antarctica with Ice Axe Expeditions.
We experienced extremely sunny weather and even a couple of powder days.
It was simply unreal trip.
These Antarctica trips are life changing.
I was lucky to guide a film crew and they snapped a few strong photo of me skiing and guiding around.
GOLDEN, B.C.
I spent all my time in B.C. either in the Kicking Horse backcountry or in the pillows on Rogers Pass.
I spent over 60 days in B.C. this season.
I got some great video and photos while up there.
If you’re interested in some good photos of pillow skiing, Andrew Chad has some great ones of me there.
Please check out my pillow skiing edit below:
VALDEZ, AK
I spent 9 days flying to Black Ops Heli out of Valdez, AK.
This was my 10th ski trip to Alaska since 2006.
We got in 4 fly days this year and one was pure magic.
Please see the video below from that one magic day:
MONTERSOSA, ITALY
Italy is surreal.
This was my favorite trip of the season.
Amazing people, record snowpack, record snow year, endless terrain, big terrain, all backcountry/sidecountry, delicious food, dirt cheap.
I spent 21 days in Italy in March and April.
We established strong relationships with some incredible, badass locals as well as the Monterosa marketing team.
I now plan to go back every year and retire there! 🙂
SVALBARD, NORWAY
I guided a trip to Svalbard, Norway in the end of May for the third year in a row.
I spent 9 days here in May.
We went further north than we’ve ever gone and even crossed 80ºNorth and saw the Polar Ice Cap.
The terrain up north was aggressive and we skied a lot of powder on this trip.
Below is a promo video I made for Ice Axe Expeditions from this year’s trip:
SQUAW VALLEY/LAKE TAHOE, CA
Squaw Valley, CA is my home and one of the most popular ski resorts in the USA with the best ski lift in North America: KT-22.
I spent time in Squaw in December, March, April, May in between my travels.
Squaw ran very dry this year until March 1st.
From March 1st – June 1st, Squaw was great!
I got in some incredible powder days at Squaw in March and I pushed my park skiing further than I ever have before in April and May.
D-Spin 720ºs all day!
Below is a short video representing some of what I got into at Squaw this season:
