The storm we were all looking forward to delivered the goods over Colorado last night, and it’s not finished yet!

Resorts aren’t reporting snowfall totals this early in the season, and many have yet to update their social pages, but one resort that is already boasting is Monarch Mountain.

And rightly so, they are looking like the out and out winners of this storm with ~18″ of white gold. Wolf Creek, CO are reporting 8″ on their Facebook page this morning.

Southern Colorado seems to have taken the brunt of the precipitation from this storm. Denver meteorologist Chris Tomer is reporting the following numbers in southern Colorado towns.

  • Alamosa: 14″
  • Westcliffe: 14″
  • Maysville: 12″
  • Monte Vista: 12″
  • Antonito: 12″
  • Crestone’s: 14-16″
  • Wet Mountains: 12″

The storm will linger over the mountains for the next 24-36 hours or so, with a winter storm warning still in effect until noon today, so we can expect further snowfall.

Snow set to continue for the next day or so. This forecast is for Monarch Mountain. Credit: NOAA
