Registration Opens March 21 During Spring Meltdown Event.
Mont du Lac Resort, Wisconsin, today announced a major initiative aimed at removing financial barriers to winter sports by offering free season passes and lift tickets for all youth ages 15 and under during the 2026–2027 winter season.
This program is expected to become one of the most accessible youth ski and snowboard initiatives in the Midwest, opening the door for thousands of children to experience winter sports regardless of financial background.
We want to create lifelong skiers and snowboarders. By removing the cost barrier for kids, we’re making it easier for families to spend time together on the mountain and introduce the next generation to winter sports.
The initiative also improves overall family affordability by pairing free youth access with reduced-price season passes and lift tickets for adults, creating a more attainable experience for entire families.
Our goal is simple — we want families to be able to ski together without cost being the barrier.

The announcement builds on strong growth in youth participation over the past two seasons. Mont du Lac’s previous 10 & Under program nearly tripled youth participation year-over-year, demonstrating clear demand when access barriers are removed.
With the expansion to include youth up to age 15, Mont du Lac expects to serve more than 1,500 youth participants during the 2026–2027 season.
One parent currently participating in the program shared:
Providing free season passes to youth lowers the burden on the cost of skiing and has provided more opportunities for our family to ski together and for our kids to enjoy the outdoors during the winter months.
Registration for all 2026–2027 passes will officially open March 21, 2026, during the resort’s annual Spring Meltdown Event.
Families who register youth passes during the event will receive an additional benefit, as Mont du Lac will waive the season pass hard card fee for all youth registrations completed that day.
The Spring Meltdown celebration will feature live entertainment, competitions, and the resort’s signature pond skim event, providing families an opportunity to celebrate the season while securing access for the year ahead.
