Mount Bohemia is pursuing an expansion of its cat skiing operation at Voodoo Mountain, and recently asked the public for input on its plans. A Facebook post from December 19 proposed expanding the cat operation to three snowcats on Thursday through Sunday and one snowcat on Monday and Tuesday, plus 150 acres of new terrain. The season pass price would go up $5, and cat skiing would be open to season pass holders. Currently, cat skiing is offered on Wednesdays and Saturdays for $175 a person.

Overall, the proposal was met with enthusiasm, with many commenters expressing excitement about any sort of expansion for a tiny increase in pass price. Opinions were split whether cat seats should be first come, first serve or open to reservations, or some combination of the two. Some commenters expressed hesitation about running snowcats more frequently, worrying that terrain will be tracked out too quickly.

Voodoo Mountain offers almost 700 vertical feet and 200 acres of skiable terrain. Overall, the terrain at Voodoo Mountain is less steep and less challenging than most of the terrain at Mount Bohemia, which is famous for offering no beginner terrain and no grooming. Mount Bohemia launched Voodoo Mountain Cat Skiing in the 2015-2016 season, as the first cat skiing operation East of the Mississippi.
