Rose Ski Tahoe, Spooner Summit, Carson, Ebbetts, and Sonora passes all could receive 4-8 inches of snow.

Both state routes/mountain passes are scheduled to close at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, in anticipation of the storm. With safety being a priority for Caltrans, these closures are done in anticipation that the storm would hamper driving conditions.
SR-4 will close at the No. 2 snow gate east of Lake Alpine and SR-108 will close at Kennedy Meadows. Each of the mountain passes is expected to receive 4 to 8 inches of snow.
“After a mild fall and start to the winter season, it looks like the weather will finally arrive this week. Four to 6 inches of snow is forecast to fall on State Route 120 (SR-120)/Tioga Pass and SR-108/Sonora Pass., both in Tuolumne County, and 6 to 8 inches could fall on SR-4/Ebbetts Pass (Alpine County)” – Caltrans, District 10
SR-120/Tioga Pass is maintained by Yosemite National Park and that route is scheduled to close Tuesday at 3:00 pm.
Although snow accumulations appear to be light, NWS is urging drivers to be cautious during the hazardous driving conditions, including leaving more space while following vehicles.ย
