The Winter Olympics have arrived, and national pride in many countries is at an all-time high. The Olympic Games bring out the best in sports as athletes compete not just for personal but national glory. One ski resort in Australia is leaning into this idea by giving its guests a little extra motivation to get into the Olympic spirit.

Mt. Buller in the state of Victoria is upping the stakes for Australians at the 2026 winter Olympics with a special offer. The resort announced that every time an Australian wins a medal at the games, a limited number of $100 adult 1-day-any-day midweek lift passes will be released to celebrate. Whether the medal is gold, silver, or bronze, the podium finish will release these discounted tickets during a short window. After an Australian has won a medal, tickets will be released the following morning at 9 a.m. and will only be available for 24 hours or until they are sold out.

According to Mt. Buller’s website, this event is a way to promote national pride during the Olympics and reward fans for tuning into the games to support their country. The closer fans pay attention to the action, the better chance they have at securing a great day on the mountain at a great price.

This promotion offers a 1-day lift ticket on any weekday throughout the 2026 winter season with no blackout dates. Adult tickets will sell for $100, $75 for young adults and seniors, and $60 for kids. To purchase these tickets, add the ticket to your cart, assign it to your profile, and scan your B-Tag at the lift on any weekday during the 2026 season.

Additional tickets will be released if Australia wins multiple medals on a single day, so the more medals Australia wins, the better your chances are at scoring these discounted tickets. Tickets will, however, be limited to one ticket per person on your account, so there will be no double-dipping.

Mt. Buller is one of Australia’s biggest ski resorts, boasting a vertical drop of 1,214 feet and a skiable footprint of 741 acres. The resort is a 3-hour drive from Melbourne and is a member of the IKON pass, which gives pass holders seven days of access with the full pass and 5 days with the base pass.

Australia has already tallied four medals so far, including a whopping three golds. Cooper Woods won gold in the men’s moguls, Josie Baff captured gold in the women’s snowboard cross, and Jakara Anthony won gold in the women’s dual moguls. Halfpipe snowboarder Scotty James rounds out the Australian medals tally with a silver.

This promotion will hopefully drum up even more national pride in Australia during these games and at the same time encourage more people to get outside and enjoy the slopes. Hopefully, this will inspire other resorts to do the same, as many skiers in other countries are likely jealous of this great deal.
