Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe, NV had planned on opening on Monday, October 31st, 2016 after receiving 7-18″ of new snow on October 16th, 2016.
As of Thursday, they’ve canceled that October 31st opening date and they have not announced a new opening date.
“Due to the recent warmer temps, Mt. Rose will not make it’s projected Oct 31 Opening date. Good forecast for wet weather and colder air. Mt. Rose will make snow at every possible opportunity that conditions permit. At 8260โ, the high base elevation at Mt. Rose combined with our north and east facing slopes always gives us more opportunities to ramp up our snowmaking and achieve the maximum potential to blow and maintain snow.” – Mt. Rose, October 27th, 2016
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect Sunday for the Mt. Rose region that is calling for 6-18″ of snow above 8,000′ this weekend (see below).
- Mammoth, CA plans to open on November 10th.
- Squaw Alpine, CA plans to open on November 11th.
