Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe is sending off its 60th anniversary season in style with discounted tickets, extended lift hours, and a splashy spring tradition. From Thursday, April 24, through Sunday, April 27, the resort is offering $60 lift tickets for adults and $30 for kids to anyone holding a valid season pass from another ski area.

The deal isnโ€™t just a season sendoffโ€”itโ€™s also a credit. Guests who purchase an โ€œOther Resort Season Passโ€ ticket this week can apply that $60 toward a 2025โ€“26 Double Down Season Pass. Mt. Rose will double the credit to $120, providing a significant savings toward a pass that ranges from $375 to $825 for adults.

Friday and Saturday, the lifts will also run late, staying open until 6 p.m. Guests can cap off the extra laps with live music, food, and drinks at the top of the Lakeview Express chair, where aprรจs festivities will continue until 5:30 p.m.

Saturday also brings the return of Pond Skim Saturday, a spring classic where skiers and snowboardersโ€”often in wild costumesโ€”try to glide across an icy pool at the base. The event kicks off at 12:30 p.m. at Winters Creek Lodge, with judging based on costume, performance, and crowd reaction. Registration is closed, but spectators are encouraged.

Mt. Rose is closing the season with solid coverage: as of Monday, snow depths measured over 5.5 feet at the base and 7 feet at the summit, according to the Reno Gazette. The forecast this weekend calls for mostly sunny skies, light winds, and a mix of spring temps and the occasional snow flurry. Sunday, April 27, will mark the final day of lift operations for the 2024โ€“25 season.
