Opening day at New Hampshire ski resorts for the 2025-26 season is approaching fast. While the exact date will be announced soon, guests can expect a launch consistent with the state’s tradition of early-season excitement. Four New Hampshire ski resorts are getting ready for the season to start and have programs and events for skiers and snowboarders to enjoy throughout the season.
Wildcat Mountain
Snowmaking started on November 6, and the mountain fired up its snowguns at higher elevations. Wildcat’s goals are to expand its snowmaking efforts toward the base as conditions allow. “The energy on the mountain is electric,” Brandon Swartz, General Manager of Wildcat Mountain, said in an email to SnowBrains. “Our snowmakers are working around the clock to transform the terrain and bring us closer to welcoming skiers and riders back for another unforgettable season.”
This season, Wildcat will continue its partnership with Mount Washington Valley Adaptive Sports (MWVAS), bringing inclusive on-snow opportunities to families and individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities. Through full and half-day clinics offered from mid-December through March, MWVAS provides personalized instruction using specialized adaptive equipment and teaching techniques, ensuring every student can experience the joy, freedom, and confidence that come with being on the mountain.

Attitash Mountain Resort
Off-Season Resort Maintenance & Upgrades: Attitash’s Adventure Center Lodge now features a newly constructed deck, offering guests a comfortable spot to relax and take in scenic mountain views. Snowmaking system upgrades at Attitash include rebuilt motors and pumps, delivering stronger performance, more reliable snow production, and consistently better conditions across the mountain all season long. Registration is also open for Attitash’s TGIF (“Thank Goodness I am Fifty”) Seasonal Program, along with our other seasonal offerings, including junior seasonal and adult development programs.
Mount Sunapee Ski Resort
This year is New Hampshire State Parks’ 90th anniversary of recreation and conservation. Mount Sunapee is a steward of the land that it operates within the state park, and is excited to welcome back skiers and riders to recreate with us this winter season.
Once again, Mount Sunapee is excited to offer both its Women’s Workshop and Men’s Workshop, two 5-week community-focused ski and snowboard programs featuring women-led and men-led instruction for intermediate to advanced participants. These workshops bring skiers and riders together in a supportive, social setting, blending skill development with a fun on-mountain experience. Sessions run from January through March at the Adventure Center.
Mount Sunapee will have its New Year’s Bash on December 31. Ring in the New Year with après festivities, live entertainment, delicious food, and fun featuring the annual Bonfire, S’moresmobile, and more. Cap off the night with a dazzling fireworks display over the slopes.
Crotched Mountain
This summer, Crotched Mountain upgraded its entire night skiing experience with the installation of new, energy-efficient LED lighting across all trails. This enhancement will improve visibility for guests enjoying the slopes after dark, making every evening run feel even more electric.
Crotched Mountain will feature two exciting programs this season for skiers and snowboarders. The mountain’s Midnight Madness kicks off December 27 and will run all season long. Crotched will light up the slopes and shred under the stars. The event features live music, giveaways, and more. Crotched Mountain’s Adult Race League kicks off Thursday, January 8, 2026, and will run for eight weeks, culminating with the Championships on March 5.
It won’t be much longer until New Hampshire’s ski resorts are ready to deliver another classic New England ski season. From Wildcat’s high-elevation snowmaking blitz and adaptive programming to Attitash’s refreshed lodge deck and upgraded guns, Mount Sunapee’s community workshops and New Year’s fireworks spectacular, and Crotched’s glowing new LED night-skiing experience paired with Midnight Madness and a feisty race league, there’s something for every skier and snowboarder.
