
It’s not often that you see the National Weather Service (NOAA) calling for 6-8 feet (72-84″) of snow in one Winter Storm Warning, but that’s exactly what’s happening right now for Yosemite National Park in California.
It’s also very abnormal to have a Winter Storm Warning, or any warning for that matter, that lasts 7 days, but again, that’s what’s happening right now.
Yosemite’s 9,945′ Tioga Pass holds some of the best backcountry skiing in the Lower 48, and it’s always good news if this zone is filling up with snow 🙂
Most forecasts are talking about high snow levels to start with these storms before snow levels fall to lake and valley levels.
Hold on, California, this could be a wild ride…

- Mammoth:Â 18-24″ of snow forecast above 8,500′ Saturday & Sunday via Winter Weather Advisory
- Tahoe:Â 12-18″ of snow forecast above 8,000′ Saturday and Sunday via Winter Weather Advisory
