NOAA has issued Winter Weather Advisories for Wyoming’s Absaroka & Bighorn Mountains today.  Up to 8″ of snow is forecast to fall today and tonight.  Snow levels will as low as 5,000-feet.

* SNOW ACCUMULATION...6 TO 8 INCH ACCUMULATIONS POSSIBLE THROUGH
  TUESDAY MORNING. - NOAA Riverton, WY today

Beartooth Pass, WY/MT (US-212) has been closed for the 3rd time in 3 weeks due to snow today.

“[ 6:30 AM 9/12/16 ] Beartooth Pass is now closed due to snowy conditions. Rain has begun to transition to snow at high elevations and we are expecting 6 to 8 inches of snow and hazardous travel conditions in the Bighorn Mountains Today into Tuesday morning, so plan accordingly.” – NOAA Billings, MT today

“In wake of a strong cold front last night, much colder temperatures will occur today. The most pronounced difference will occur across the Big Horn Basin where temperatures are expected to fall into or hold steady in the 40s to even upper 30s. Scattered to numerous valley rain and mountain snow showers will occur today and tonight. Snow levels will be the lowest over the north with snow lowering to between 5000 to 6000 feet by Monday evening. Significant snow accumulations is expected across the Absaroka and Bighorn Mountains today and tonight.” – NOAA Riverton, WY today

  14 WITH SNOW PACKED OR SLUSHY ROADS.

* TIMING...SNOW RATES WILL INCREASE THIS MORNING AND STAY STEADY
  THROUGH MUCH OF THE AFTERNOON. SNOW WILL BEGIN TO DECREASE AFTER
  MIDNIGHT TUESDAY.
