“Here’s a look at how much precipitation fell in CA during the first 10 days of July. The map on the left is the total amount in inches and the map on the right is the percentage of normal.for the same period.” – NOAA Sacramento
Large swaths of California have received 800% of normal precipitation for the first 10 days of July. We even had a Water Spout on Lake Tahoe, CA and 9,624′ Tioga Pass in Yosemite, CA was closed for 3 hours on Wednesday due to snow. The weather in California in July has been crazy so far.
But it’s not nearly enough. California is still in an “Exceptional” drought. No this extra wet early July did not even make a dent in the drought.
