The NOAA has released their expectations for the upcoming winter season, and they kinda contradict the Farmer’s and the Old Farmer’s Almanacs who both predict ‘teeth-chatteringly cold’ weather. Across all ski states, the NOAA is predicting more than likely higher than average temperatures, with California, the PNW, and Alaska the most likely to be warmer.

A developing El Niño pattern is expected through this winter which could still change everything. As for precipitation, with the exception of Montana where precipitation is expected to be below normal, expect average precipitation across the majority of ski states.

What does all this mean? More than likely, it will be an average winter all around. I’ll take average…
