Sick of summer?

Looking for a powder day this coming June weekend?

In California, that might not been too much of a stretch.

NOAA is calling for acumulating snow down to 8,000′ on Saturday and Saturday night in California which would make Sunday…  You guessed it…  A Powder Day.

“Snow levels would dip below 8000 feet which would mean we could actually add or our high elevation snowpack Saturday and Saturday night.” – NOAA Reno, NV today

We’re guessing it won’t be too much snow and will likely be a bit sticky, but c’mon!  It’s June!  June Powder Day!

Both Squaw and Mammoth will be OPEN this weekend.  Squaw is sitting on a 161″ snowpack and Mammoth is sitting on a 95-145″ snowpack!

video showing the Squaw boys going OFF on last week on May 25th, 2017.  New snow will only add to this madness…

It’s been a record season so why not keep it going?  We can remember getting 18″ of new snow in Tahoe on June 10th in 2011.  We hiked up to the top of Alpine Meadows and skied down in pow and even threw a few backflips.  So fun…

To be fair, NOAA is saying that they no confidence in this forecast this far out.  So, we’ll just have to wait and see.

“We have no confidence in the model solutions at this point.” – NOAA Reno, NV today
