NOAA: Winter Storm Warning for Grand Targhee & Jackson Hole, WY on Saturday

NOAA just issued a Winter Storm Warning for the Teton Range in Wyoming including Grand Targhee & Jackson Hole ski resorts.

They’re talking about heavy snow Saturday with 6-12″ of new snow between 6am Saturday and 6am Sunday.

* WHAT…Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches, including near Togwotee Pass.

Grand Targhee has already seen 154″ of snowfall this season.

Jackson Hole has already seen 171″ of snowfall this season.

According to NOAA, the Teton range is currently sitting on a 92% of average snowpack to date.

...Significant snow returns to the Tetons and portions of far
western Wyoming Saturday...

.Moderate, with periods of heavy snow will develop across far
western Wyoming Saturday morning and continue through Saturday
night. Light snow expected by daybreak Sunday and ending by midday.

SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12

* WHERE...Teton and Gros Ventre Mountains.

* WHEN...From 6 AM Saturday to 6 AM MST Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Motorists should be
  alert for rapid changes in visibility in snow, as well as slick
  and snow covered roads, especially across Teton and Togwotee
  Passes.
