NOAA: Winter Storm Warning for Tetons | 9-18″ of Snow Forecast Today/Tomorrow

NOAA has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the Teton Mountains of Wyoming including Grand Targhee & Jackson Hole ski resorts today and tomorrow.

Additional snow accumulations of 9 to 13 inches, with total storm amounts up to 
18 inches, are expected. - NOAA Riverton, WY today

It’s already snowing at Grand Targhee and Jackson Hole and they have both already had terrific early seasons.

This snowfall is lining the Christmas Holiday up to be epic in Wyoming.

SYNOPSIS: Another round of snow and Arctic air arrives in the north this morning and pushes south during the day into tonight.  Significant snow and/or blowing snow are expected over northern and western sections of the area with lighter amounts elsewhere.  Another snow storm is possible across western Wyoming Sunday night and Monday with some snow spilling east of the Divide on Christmas Day.” – NOAA Riverton, WY today

...Significant Snow returns across the west and north to kick off
Christmas Weekend...

.An Arctic front will bring a fresh round of snow across the west
today. Snow has started falling over Yellowstone and will spread
southward through the day across western and northern Wyoming.
Snow will then taper off from north to south on Saturday.

Teton and Gros Ventre Mountains-


* WHAT...Heavy snow and blowing snow occurring. Plan on difficult
  travel conditions. Additional snow accumulations of 9 to 13
  inches, with total storm amounts up to 18 inches, are expected.

* WHERE...Teton and Gros Ventre Mountains.

* WHEN...Until noon Saturday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Windy conditions will result in significant
  blowing and drifting of snow with severe reductions in
  visibility at times. Please monitor JHAVALANCHE.ORG if your
  plans include travel into the back country.
