NOAA: Winter Storm Warning Issued For Wyoming | 8-16″ of Snow Today – Friday Morning

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Wyoming. It’s in effect until 11:00am Friday morning. Periods of snow, heavy at times, are forecasted to impact the area throughout that time.

Grand Targhee Resort, WY & Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, WY are sitting pretty for this storm.

  • 8-16″ of Snow Today – Friday Morning

“Winter Storm Warnings & Winter Weather Advisories are in effect through Friday morning. Significant snowfall & some blowing snow is expected in the west. Light snow will spread east too, but the main impact east of the Divide will be gusty winds across the wind corridor.”

Snow is expected to fall in the valleys, but the highest accumulations will be in the mountains.

The 6-10 day outlook calls for above average precipitation and below average temperatures in Wyoming.

west today, spreading across southern Wyoming this afternoon.
Snow will taper off Friday morning.

* WHEN...From 5 AM Thursday to 11 AM MST Friday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel could be very difficult. The
  hazardous conditions will impact the morning and evening
  commutes. This includes Teton and Togwotee passes.
