NOAA: Winter Storm Warning Issued For ME, NH, & VT | 8-12+” of Snow Is Forecasted To Fall Today

The National Weather Service has issued Winter Storm Warnings for Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. They are in effect from early this morning through late tonight. Heavy snow is forecasted to impact the area throughout this time.

Snow is forecasted to fall at all elevations, but the heaviest accumulations are expected to occur in the mountains. Although, a light glaze of ice is possible at lower elevations before it all turns to snow.

TO 1 AM EST THURSDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 8 to 12
  inches, with localized amounts up to 14 inches, are expected.

* WHERE...Washington, Orange, Rutland, Windsor, and eastern
  Addison counties of Vermont..

* WHEN...From 8 AM this morning to 1 AM EST Thursday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on difficult travel conditions today,
  especially between Noon and 7 pm when accumulating snow will be
  the heaviest. Snowfall rates of an inch an hour can be expected
  during this time, resulting in visibilities reduced to under a
  half mile at times.
