Good surf and a bit of snow for Tahoe above 5,500-feet today:

“Gusty winds and cool temperatures will continue on Thursday with hazardous boating again expected across area lakes.

There will be a chance of rain showers north of Interstate 80 and light snow above 5,550 – 6,000 feet across Lassen and Plumas counties through Thursday morning. Morning low temperatures on Thursday may also be cold enough to affect any outdoor gardens, so take note and protect sensitive plants.

Temperatures will remain below season averages Thursday and Friday before returning to near normal by Saturday. A strong region of high pressure will then build into early next week giving western Nevada a chance to reach triple digit heat with temperatures nearing 90 for Sierra valleys.” – NOAA Reno, NV yesterday
