NOAA has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for California for Tuesday.

4-8″ of snow are forecast above 7,000-feet.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS: 1 TO 4 INCHES...WITH 4 TO 8 INCHES ABOVE
  7000 FEET.

Snow levels will drop to all valley floors with this storm by tomorrow evening.

3 ski resorts are already open in CA/NV and Squaw Alpine will open on Wednesday.

Boreal ski resort in Lake Tahoe, CA just saw 24″ of snow in the past 48 hours.

Boreal, Mammoth, and Mount Rose are the only 3 ski resorts currently open in CA/NV.

Squaw Alpine will open on Wednesday.

PST WEDNESDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN RENO HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER
ADVISORY FOR SNOW, WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM TUESDAY TO 10 AM
 PST WEDNESDAY.

* TIMING: SNOW WILL START IN THE LAKE TAHOE BASIN TUESDAY
  EVENING. THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL WILL LIKELY BE BETWEEN 10 PM
  TUESDAY AND 4 AM WEDNESDAY MORNING.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS: 1 TO 4 INCHES...WITH 4 TO 8 INCHES ABOVE
  7000 FEET.

* SNOW LEVELS: FALLING TO ALL VALLEY FLOORS TUESDAY EVENING.

* IMPACTS: SNOW WILL MAKE TRAVEL HAZARDOUS DUE TO SLICK, SNOW
  PACKED ROADS. CHAIN CONTROLS WILL BE LIKELY, ESPECIALLY OVER THE
  SIERRA PASSES AROUND THE TAHOE BASIN.
