NOAA has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for California today that is calling for 3-6″ of snowfall from Mt. Lassen down to northern border of Yosemite National Park.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...UP TO 3 INCHES OVER SIERRA NEVADA PASSES
  AND 4 TO 6 INCHES OVER LASSEN PARK.
- NOAA Reno, NV today

Snow levels are forecast to drop as low as 6,000-feet.  

* LOCATIONS...SIERRA NEVADA 6000 FEET AND ABOVE.

Surf will be up on Lake Tahoe today as as well.  NOAA has issued a Lake Wind Advisory for Lake Tahoe.

“As a low pressure system and cold front approach the region, winds will increase and become strong and gusty Sunday afternoon. Wind gusts could reach as high as 45 mph.

Valley rain showers are also possible by Sunday afternoon across western Nevada with snow showers and up to a few inches of snow accumulations possible at Sierra pass levels as snow levels drop to 6,500-7,000’ through early evening.” – NOAA Reno, NV today

.A COLD LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL IMPACT INTERIOR NORTHERN
CALIFORNIA TODAY AND TONIGHT... BRINGING EARLY SEASON SNOW TO THE
NORTHERN SIERRA AND LASSEN PARK. SNOW LEVELS WILL LOWER TO BELOW
PASS LEVELS THIS AFTERNOON... AND A FEW INCHES OF SNOW
ACCUMULATION ARE EXPECTED THROUGH TONIGHT.
