The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Colorado. It’s in effect until 2:00am Friday morning. Persistent snowfall is forecasted to impact the area throughout that time.

  • 2-5″ of Snow Through Tonight

“Snow continues for our northern zones and in the mountains. Watch out for those snow covered roads!”

The highest snow accumulations are forecasted to occur above 10,000ft.

The 6-10 day outlook calls for below average temperatures and below average precipitation in Colorado.

and Trappers Lake

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY EXTENDED UNTIL 2 AM MST FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Snow. 2 to 5 additional inches of throughout the day with
  storm totals ranging from 6 to 12 inches. Locally higher amounts
  above 10,000 feet.

* WHERE...Elkhead and Park Mountains, Upper Yampa River Basin
  and Flat Tops.

* WHEN...Until 2 AM MST Friday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel will be difficult, especially over
  Rabbit Ears Pass. Expect snowy and slick driving conditions.
