NOAA: Winter Weather Advisory Issued For WY | Up To 8″ of Additional Snowfall Throughout The Day Today

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Wyoming. It’s in effect until 5:00pm this afternoon. Continued snowfall and strong winds are expected to impact the area throughout that time period.

Up To 8″ of Additional Snowfall Throughout The Day Today.

Snow is forecasted to fall at all elevations, but the heaviest accumulations are expected to occur in the mountains.

* Additional snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches, with localized
  amounts up to 8 inches, are expected across northeast
  Yellowstone National Park, and the central and northern parts of
  the Absaroka Mountains.

...Continued snowfall expected across the Northwestern and
Northern Mountains Today...

Yellowstone National Park-Absaroka Mountains-
Including the cities of Lake, Mammoth, and Old Faithful

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM MST THIS
AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Snow and blowing snow occurring. Plan on slippery road
  conditions. In addition, areas of poor visibility are expected.
  Additional snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches, with localized
  amounts up to 8 inches, are expected across northeast
  Yellowstone National Park, and the central and northern parts of
  the Absaroka Mountains. 2 to 4 inches is expected across the
  rest of Yellowstone, and the southern Absaroka mountains, except
  only an additional inch of snow is expected in the Mammoth area.

* WHERE...Yellowstone National Park and Absaroka Mountains.

* WHEN...Until 5 PM today.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Windy conditions will result in areas of
  blowing and drifting of snow especially on mountain passes and
  exposed ridge tops.
