Mt. Bachelor ski resort in Oregon has nothing but snow in its forecast for the next 7 days.  This and the past week of snow they just had has prompted them to push their opening forward 3 days to Monday, November 23rd.  There’s sure to be some solid skiing and riding at Bachelor during their opening week.

Bachelor has gotten 21″ of snow in the past 7 days and 40″ of snow this season so far.

They have an 18″ snowpack at the base that will certainly grow before opening day.

Mt. Bachelor Opening Day Press Release:

It’s official – we’re opening for the 2014-2015 winter season on Monday! Although the compacted snow base isn’t quite deep enough to project traditional skiing and snowboarding on our primary runs Monday and Tuesday, there is enough snow beneath the Sunshine Accelerator lift to allow for the creation of a pre-Thanksgving terrain park. The park and Sunshine Accelerator lift will operate from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. With the forecast calling for significant snow during the weekend, we’re planning to open additional lifts, terrain and services on Wednesday, November 26 – in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.

All 2014-2015 Full Season, Midweek and 12 Day passes along with 4-Packs are valid to use beginning Monday. Single-day terrain park lift tickets will be $29 for adults (19-64) and $19 for all other ages. Prices will change when additional lifts and terrain are added to the schedule beginning Wednesday.

Mt. Bachelor’s Nordic Center will also open for the season on Monday with approximately five kilometers of upper trails groomed.

Other resort services that will be available beginning Monday:

  • Food and beverages from the Cocoa’s Cafe in West Village Lodge and Pinnacles coffee shop in Mountain Gateway
  • Gravity Sports @ Mt. Bachelor retail shop, featuring all new 2015 gear and discounts up to 50% on remaining items from last season
  • Pass pictures/pick-up at the Sales & Service Center inside Mountain Gateway

Services not available until Wednesday, November 26:

  • Gravity School ski/snowboard lessons and childcare
  • Clearing Rock Bar
  • Ski/snowboard equipment rentals and demos
  • The Mt. Bachelor Shuttle bus service between Bend and Mt. Bachelor

Remember, our WINTER UPHILL TRAVEL POLICY is now in effect and the only area open to hiking is the Cinder Cone. All other areas of the mountain are closed. We’ll be very busy this weekend preparing the base area, parking lots and mountain for Monday’s opening; we’re hoping that you can wait to visit us until our planned Monday opening. Thanks for your enthusiasm and cooperation!
