Calm and cruisie.
Tack on the word ‘corduroy’, and that just about says it all about the sliding scene at Ohau Snow Fields in the mighty Mackenzie Country of New Zealand.

Inside a bubble of relatively stable high pressure, Ohau’s basically skied the same fine day set to repeat.

The surface is compact and growing more so, which appeals to the straightforward ZIP of a groomer lap. But make no mistake, ingenuity is always an option. We’re talking about Ohau, after all. Rare are the days when there’s no shrouded patch of workable snow to wiggle through.

Naturally, every man, Jack, and their dog is hanging out for Old Man Winter to hit the ‘refresh’ button—and he just might pretty soon.
But if you’re after good turns, best mates, and zero cares, Ohau Snow Fields is the place to be.
