A 95-year-old Utah man has set the world record as the oldest person to heli-ski.

Junior Bounous, former Snowbird Director of Skiing and the resort’s first School Director skied four runs on Monday in the Wasatch near Snowbird with his son Steve, daughter-in-law Suzanne, and granddaughters Ajya and Tyndall.

Snowbird made the announcement yesterday.

The heli-skiing day, with Powderbird Helicopter Skiing, was also his 60th ski day of the season.

The previous record-holder was 94 years and 306 days old.

  2. Had a great day competing against Junior and Steve in a Powder 8 contest in New Zealand in 1987. A couple wonderful people to spend time with The legend lives on.
