One Dead & Another Injured After A Shooting In Tahoe City, CA On Saturday

According to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office, two individuals were shot in Tahoe City, CA on Saturday. Two men were sitting outside in a vehicle, when the suspect started shooting into it.

As a result of the gunfire, one individual suffered fatal wounds and passed by at nearby hospital. The other was recently released from the hospital after being treated for an arm wound.

The shooting occurred at the Boatworks Shopping Mall in Tahoe City, CA just before 5:00pm on Saturday, February 16th, 2019. The deceased victim has been identified as 33-year-old Octavio Villa-Villanueva of Sparks, Nevada.

The Placer Country Sheriff’s Office stated that the public isn’t currently in danger, despite the fact that no ones been arrested as a result of this shooting.

[UPDATE 02/16, 2230 hours]: One confirmed fatality in the Tahoe City shooting.

The decedent is Octavio Villa-Villanueva, 33-years old, of Sparks, Nevada. Investigation is continuing.
