Olympic Valley, Calif. [March 4, 2026] — This March, Palisades Tahoe is celebrating International Women’s Month with a lineup of on-snow events, community gatherings, and storytelling experiences that honor the women who have shaped the culture of Olympic Valley and continue to inspire the next generation.

From snowboard meetups and national nonprofit activations to a high-performance ski camp and a powerful book reading highlighting the region’s legacy, the month is centered on connection, confidence, and community.

Carving Cats – Women’s Community Ride Day

Thursday, March 12, 2026

8:00 AM – 3:30 PM | KT Base Bar Deck

Hosted by Tailer Spinney, Carving Cats is a women’s snowboard community day focused on shared laps, building confidence, and strengthening camaraderie on snow. Riders of all levels are invited to carve groomers, explore terrain, and connect with new riding partners in a welcoming environment.

The day wraps with après at the KT Base Bar in celebration of Women’s History Month.

Participants must have a valid Ikon Pass or lift ticket.

Book Signing: Four Women and a Mountain

Thursday, March 12, 2026
3:30 AM – 4:30 PM | Bar One

Join author Lisa Arnbrister Barbash at Bar One as she reads from her new historical nonfiction work, Four Women and a Mountain: Legends and Legacies of the Sierra.

This intimate portrait brings to life the stories of four women whose courage, resilience, and love helped shape the culture and character of the Olympic Valley and North Lake Tahoe region. Through firsthand interviews, private diaries, and oral histories, Barbash tells the powerful stories of:

  • Jeanne Reuter
  • Neata Arnbrister
  • Sherry McConkey

Following the reading, Barbash will host a Q&A and sign copies of the book. The event offers a meaningful opportunity to reflect on the women whose legacies continue to influence the Tahoe community today.

Get the Girls Out! with SheJumps

Saturday, March 14, 2026

8:30 AM – 5:00 PM | KT Base Bar Deck

SheJumps’ nationwide “Get the Girls Out!” campaign returns to Palisades Tahoe for a full day of celebration, including a basecamp gathering at the KT Base Bar Deck, group lunch meetups, a Golden Girafficorn scavenger hunt, prizes, and après festivities.

The event is free to attend (lift ticket required) and welcomes all women and girls—transgender and cisgender—as well as non-binary individuals. Minors must be supervised by a parent or guardian.

Women of Winter Camp with Amie Engerbretson

April 2–3, 2026

Designed for advanced intermediate and expert skiers, the Women of Winter Camp offers an immersive coaching experience under the guidance of Amie Engerbretson and Palisades Tahoe Mountain Sports School instructors.

Participants will focus on refining technique, building confidence, and exploring legendary terrain in a supportive, all-female environment with personalized coaching and early-up access. Off-snow experiences include yoga, curated lunches, and a wine gathering — creating space for recovery, connection, and community.

Camp includes early-ups, welcome reception, yoga session, curated social events, complimentary parking, gift bags, raffle prizes, and a 15% slopeside lodging discount.

Born and raised in Lake Tahoe, Amie Engerbretson has appeared in films from Warren Miller and Teton Gravity Research and is a climate advocate recognized by Protect Our Winters. She uses her platform to promote women in sport and outdoor leadership.

Elevating Women’s Voices

Throughout March, Palisades Tahoe will publish its Women’s Blog Series, spotlighting women across mountain operations, ski patrol, hospitality, marketing, and leadership. These stories highlight career journeys, mentorship, and the evolving role of women in the ski industry.

International Women’s Month at Palisades Tahoe reflects a broader commitment to cultivating collaboration, honoring authenticity, and empowering women on and off the mountain.
