Upate from May 17
Palisades Tahoe, California, is the only ski resort still open in the Lake Tahoe area and there are still 10 days of skiing and boarding before the resort closes its lifts. Conditions are looking pretty good for the final stretch, but since it has been (and will continue to be) quite warm, there have been some changes to operations.

The operations plan for the remaining days of the season is as follows:
- Headwall is probably the next to go. Snow on CII Ridge and Chicken Bowl is very thin, to the point where operations can’t maintain it with a snowcat anymore. Reverse Traverse will stay open as conditions allow.
- Bailey’s Beach is also one of the next lifts to go. However, Mountain Meadow surprisingly has pretty good snowpack, so it might actually make it all the way to the end.
- Will Mountain Run make it to the end? Last week, it looked like it might make it to the 27th but now it’s looking less likely. It’s REALLY thin in places so be prepared: It could close midday anytime in the coming week or so. It just depends on snowmelt.
- Through the 27th: Mountain ops expect to have Siberia, Gold Coast, Shirley Lake, Granite Chief, the Funitel, and the Aerial Tram. Mountain Meadow and Big Blue are also possibilities if the snowpack holds up.
- Both Gold Coast Terrain Park and Emigrant Gully Terrain Park will stay operational through the 27th as well.
One note on Siberia: With the current warm temperatures, Siberia’s location for sun exposure, and how steep the slope is, it can be very difficult to groom this time of year. Mountain ops may stop grooming the main run and only maintain the ridge if they feel it is hurting the snowpack more than helping it.
Reminder that current hours of operation are 8am-2pm, 7 days a week.Â
