Following more than five feet of snow in the past week, the Palisades Tahoe operations teams have been working around the clock to dig out and set up the mountains, allowing them to open more terrain over the next few days.

However, this huge Sierra storm also caused a widespread power outage in the North Lake Tahoe area, and as of last night, both of their base areas are currently without power. Once power is restored, here’s the opening plan (weather & conditions permitting):

  • Wednesday: Treeline Cirque, Red Dog, Resort Chair, and SnoVentures
  • Thursday: Roundhouse
  • Friday: Summit
  • Saturday: Siberia, Gold Coast, Shirley Lake, Funitel, Aerial Tram, Belmont, Mountain Meadow, Bailey’s Beach & Big Carpet

Please also be aware that per the California state mandate that goes into effect December 15-January 15, face coverings are now required in all buildings—including lodges, restaurants, and shops. If you forget your mask, there will be extras available upon entry.

The overall season snowfall total is 113”, which is double the season snowfall on the same day last year (56”). Last season Palisades Tahoe did not break 100” of total snowfall until January 5th.

Road conditions are hazardous, especially for drivers who are not accustomed to driving mountain roads in the snow. Please check the CalTrans QuickMap app for road closures and chain requirements.
