Pangea Collective has announced the return of its Freeride Film Tour, a ten-stop cinematic showcase spotlighting the year’s most compelling stories in skiing and snowboarding. After a successful debut last winter, the 2025 edition expands to more cities, more voices, and more moments that capture the essence of life in the mountains.
From Revelstoke to Mammoth, the tour will feature ten brand-new films from Pangea Collective’s roster of athletes and filmmakers including Ross Tester, Taylor Dobyns, Sam Dallaire, Seth Hill, Yu Sasaki, Carson Sharp, Jonathan Penfield, Claire Hewitt-Demeyer, Holden Samuels, Kendall Goodman, and Jérémie “Jepaq” Paquette. Each project offers a window into the freeride world, its intensity, vulnerability, and evolving sense of community.
“The Film Tour is one of the highlights of our year,” Pangea Collective co-founder Ethan Herman says. “It’s a chance for our athletes to share what they’ve been working on last season, connect with their local communities, and celebrate the start of another winter.”
What’s New in 2025

The Freeride Film Tour began as a grassroots experiment, a chance to see if freeride athletes could control their own storytelling. The result was an incredible first season that merged big-mountain cinematography with the authenticity of those who live it every day.
This year, co-founders Ethan Herman and Noah Schneider have expanded the vision. The 2025 tour brings ten completely new films, new music collaborations, and live appearances at select stops. Each night is designed not just as a screening, but as a gathering, an intersection of riders, fans, and filmmakers who shape this culture from within.
“This year we’re going bigger and better: more films, more events, and more goodies to giveaway,” Herman says. “We’ve got six new locations, including two in Canada, plus live music in Chicago, Denver, and Bozeman. Come and support independent ski and snowboard films from some of your favorite athletes and get stoked for snow!”
The Film Lineup

Each film explores a different corner of the freeride world, from comeback arcs to meditations on balance, risk, and belonging.

Why It Matters

At a time when ski media is increasingly commercial and algorithm-driven, the Freeride Film Tour feels refreshingly independent. Pangea Collective, part production studio, part creative community, has become known for elevating voices that might otherwise stay local.
The films are built on connection, not competition. They highlight the emotional range of mountain life: the heartbreak of injury, the patience of waiting for conditions, the quiet joy of a perfect turn.
Pangea’s team captures that duality with honesty, a balance between cinematic beauty and human imperfection. The result is a lineup that feels as alive as the riders it features.
Each screening also serves as a community event. Expect local athlete appearances, live Q&A sessions, and gear giveaways from partner brands. It’s a night that blends film, friendship, and the anticipation of winter, a reminder of what brings freeriders together long before the first snowfall.

The Future of Freeride Storytelling

Pangea Collective’s success signals something bigger than a film tour, it’s a shift in how mountain stories are told. These aren’t corporate edits; they’re collaborations between athletes and filmmakers who live the same lives.
By combining professional production with the spirit of DIY creativity, the Freeride Film Tour bridges generations of mountain culture, from those raised on VHS ski movies to the digital-native creators carving new paths forward.
Their mantra is authenticity: a shared belief that freeride isn’t just about skiing or snowboarding, but about the people who risk, rebuild, and return every winter.
As the tour travels across North America, it carries that message, that the spirit of freeride is as much about resilience and artistry as it is about steep lines and deep snow.
