Parts of ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ Were Filmed Near Lake Tahoe

Set to hit theaters this Friday, ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ comes more than 30 years after the original ‘Top Gun’ that was released in 1986.

Parts of the new film were actually filmed in the Tahoe, California, area. 

A few flight scenes were shot in South Lake Tahoe and Meyers in 2018, according to the Tahoe Art Haus Cinema website.

The Tahoe City cinema will start showing the movie Thursday at 8 p.m.
