Pats Peak is preparing for one of its largest seasons of capital investment yet with the installation of a new chairlift and major upgrades across the mountain. The southern New Hampshire ski area said it will replace its Hurricane Triple with a fixed-grip quad for the 2025-26 winter. The new SkyTrac Hurricane Quad will increase uphill capacity by about 25% and feature a loading conveyor designed to ease congestion during peak hours. The resort announced that a redesigned approach and loading area will also improve flow from the base lodge.

By shifting lift access, the project frees space for a larger beginner zone. The expanded area has been re-graded to create gentler terrain for first-time skiers and snowboarders. Resort leaders said plans are also in place for a new carpet lift specifically aimed at young children and those just starting out.

Snowmaking is also on the list of upgrades. Pats Peak said it is reconfiguring base-area piping to allow earlier snowmaking startups, while preparing to add a new summit powerline in future years that could significantly boost capacity. The resort, known for 100% snowmaking coverage and extensive night skiing, said in a news release that the improvements are part of a long-term strategy to ensure reliable conditions despite increasingly variable winters.

Food and beverage will see changes as well. The Sled Pub is adding new barbecue offerings, a dessert counter dubbed Après Sweets will debut, and the Valley Lodge will introduce a deli station with made-to-order sandwiches. QR code ordering will also roll out on the Sled Pub deck to speed up service. Behind the scenes, kitchen equipment upgrades are underway to support the expanded menus.

Other projects include an enlarged kids’ program area with new flooring and added capacity, plus updated rental equipment with new skis, snowboards and boots. The ski area has steadily invested in its facilities in recent years, including the completion of a new mountain operations center. Pats Peak operates 11 lifts and is one of the few New England ski areas to offer night skiing from the summit, including on beginner terrain.

Season passes for 2025-26 are on sale, with early-season discounts available through September 3. The resort said the pass continues to offer reciprocal benefits at partner mountains and discounted “Bring-A-Friend” tickets.
