Perisher, Australia, Bids Farewell to the 2025 Season With Party Shirt Long Weekend

This weekend, October 4-6, marks the final lifts and last runs of the 2025 snow season at Perisher, Australia’s largest ski resort. As autumn creeps in and temperatures climb, the New South Wales resort is pulling the curtain on another winter of thrills, music, and spirited spring skiing.

Perisher’s event calendar calls for a festive send-off. The “Party Shirt Long Weekend” runs Friday through Sunday, encouraging guests to don outrageous prints and colorful gear as spring laps are followed by après sessions and mountain parties. DJ sets, live music, and themed deck events will carry the season’s energy late into the evening.

Road access and park operations are already adjusting: Kosciuszko Road, which connects Perisher to Charlotte Pass, is scheduled to reopen on October 3, and several trails in Kosciuszko National Park will resume summer use from October 6 onward.

Perisher has long set itself apart by extending its season into spring when others shut down earlier. Thanks to its high altitude location and excellent snow making, the resort typically manages to stay open until October—sometimes even until mid-October.
