Peruvian Chairlift at Snowbird.

Yesterday’s Press Release From Snowbird:

“During our first grooming shift in Peruvian Gulch last night a snowcat’s winch cable hit one of the Peruvian chairs near Tower 22 and knocked it off the line. The chairlift’s haul rope came off the tower’s sheave train at this location as well. Fortunately the lift was closed and no one was injured.

We will be inspecting the equipment starting this morning and making any necessary repairs. The Peruvian chairlift will be closed during this time but Peruvian Gulch will remain open.

Open lifts today will be the Tram, Mineral Basin, Little Cloud, Chickadee and Wilbere. It’s unlikely we could set up Gadzoom in time for operations today but that lift’s re-opening is a possibility for next weekend if we’re unable to get Peruvian ready.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience. As a reminder, Snowbird will be open daily through May 14 and then Friday through Sunday as long as conditions permit.”
