California’s Mammoth Mountain is reporting 6″ of fresh snow at the Main Lodge today with flakes continuing to fall. The recent snow has prompted the Eastern Sierra ski area to push up its opening day to this Saturday, Nov. 5.

Mammoth Mountain shared in a social post today:

Mother Nature, don’t tempt us with a good time! 💃🏼 Fresh snow, cold temps and the best operating team in the business means we’re opening early, AGAIN. We expect to operate 2-3 lifts at 8:30AM this Saturday, November 5 with access to 2-3 runs and a small Unbound Terrain Park.

All operations will be based out of Main Lodge, no beginner terrain available at this time. We will continue to make snow around the clock as conditions allow, more information to come.

We can’t wait to see you on the hill in just a few days!

Snowmaking will continue at Mammoth around the clock as conditions allow. Opening Day operations are still TBD, but the resort expects to operate 2-3 lifts with access to 2-3 runs and a small Unbound Terrain Park. All operations will be based out of Main Lodge with no beginner terrain available at this time. Another significant storm is in the forecast for Sun/Mon next week.

Ski season officially starts in T-minus three days at Mammoth Mountain. Are you ready?
