Look But Don’t Touch Yesterday at palisadestahoe, CA!

“If you go off-piste, you’re taking your life in your hands,” Ski Patroller David told us yesterday…

And he was right, the off-piste was treacherous after the previous day brought rain to the top and a freeze overnight.

The whole mountain was a crusty popsicle.

Then, only 1 day later, the magic โœจ of the Lake Tahoe snowpack kicked in, and the skiing was terrific on south faces today (video coming tomorrow)!

Some reports even said that the skiing was good on South faces yesterday by 2:30 p.m.

It’s incredible how fast the snowpack can heal here.

It’s also amazing how fast it can go from great to terrible and then from terrible back to great.

The true magic of this place is that there is always something good to ski and ride if you look hard enough.

Sometimes just that process of looking can be damn fun.

Stay curious.

Thanks, California!
