I think it’s fair to say that Alta Ski Area, UT, is having a great start to the season. This latest storm—54″ and counting—has taken the Little Cottonwood Canyon resort to 213″, the first resort in North America to pass 200″.

It’s literally chest-deep.

Alta, celebrating its 85th anniversary this season, already has a 92″ base, one of the deepest in the country.

Another foot is in the forecast in the next week, so if you haven’t already, now is the time to take advantage of that Ikon Pass and make your way to Utah.
