Mikaela Shiffrin has given fans a glimpse of the U.S. speed women’s training camp in La Parva, Chile, as the American team continues preparations for the 2026-27 World Cup season. Shiffrin is back on snow alongside speed teammates Jacqui Wiles, Breezy Johnson, Keely Cashman, Bella Wright, and Haley Cutler.
The six-time overall World Cup champion shared photos and impressions on her social media accounts from the La Parva camp, where the American team is putting in valuable preseason speed training. La Parva has long been a popular destination for World Cup teams during the Northern Hemisphere summer. The high-altitude Chilean resort provides the U.S. athletes with an opportunity to train on snow during August.

As an added bonus, Shiffrin’s fiancé, Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, is also training in Chile, giving the couple a few bonus days together. Shiffrin admitted in a recent podcast interview that she only sees her fiancé for a few weeks a year, “a few weeks in May, June, and July,” Shiffrin explained in her podcast What’s the Point, then it is back to training for each of them.

The couple might get a chance to see each other in Beaver Creek this year, where both the men’s and women’s World Cup wil be held in late November. Shiffrin has stated that she will be focussing more on giant slalom and super-G for the future as she feels she has peaked in slalom. So we are looking forward to seeing her at some more speed events than last season, where she competed early on in St. Moritz, Switzerland, in December 2025, but then not again until March this year.
We look forward to seeing Shiffrin at more events this coming season.
